NECK THICKNESS

Hi Guys!
I am close to ordering a Roscoe.but its going to be a blind buy.
One thing i cant find any info about is the neck thickness of a 5 strings LG/SKB. measured under the 1st and 12th fret.
I really would appreciate and thank you if any one would be kind enough to measure it and post it here.
Thanks a lot guys
Best regards
Robert

I'm sure you'll get some help form guys in the Roscoe forum. After I was able to play two 6ers I ordered mine and requested their thinner neck option. I think it was .74 something or something...

+1.

Around 3/4 of an inch is roughly what my SKB-3005 I am playing right now is.

Gard and others may give you more of an exact #.

neck thickness

Looking for a Roscoe to also purchase, have not found one to try. Can anyone give a comparison of the neck to other basses regarding thickness and playability to the following basses:
Pedulla Thunderbolt, Modulus Quantum, Warwick Thumb NT all 5 string

OK, here are the "official" numbers!

Fretted:

1st fret: .79" - .81"
7th fret: .84" - .89"
12th fret: .92" - .94"
17th fret: .99" -1.10"

Fretless:

1st pos: .81" - .83"
7th pos: .88" - .91"
12th pos: .94" - .97"
17th pos: 1.00" - 1.20"

Those are actually written on the wall where the shaping is done!

Wow...talk about a detailed answer. Thanks, Gard! That's really gracious of you to offer specs at that granular of a level. FWIW I've measured mine using a less numerical system.

1st fret: Feels good!
7th fret: Oh, yeah!
12th fret: Damn!
17th fret: Uh oh, feels so good that I'm playing too many notes again.

Ok, I have to ask...at least before Clint or Cliff beat me to it.... Is this written above or below where it says, "For a good time, call Gard @..."

I kill me sometimes.

Why the difference between fretted & fretless?

Evens the feel out, no frets on the fretless, y'see...

...this way, the fretted and fretless necks have a similar feel to them, because of where the string makes contact, the difference in height between the top of the fret on a fretted and the fingerboard on a fretless is about the difference between the profiles on a fretted and fretless...
