What other options do I have? I still want that lowend tone that Roscoe is known for but need an open high mid/clear top end. Talk amongst yourselves! |

Talk amongst yourselves! | The Nordstrand p/u's and with the Audere or Aggie OBP-3 pre would get you that more open sound. I prefer the Nord/Audere combo personally because I really like the sounds available with 2 -bands of midrange.
The first two Roscoe's that I owned with the Nordstrand p/u's had ash bodies and they were just a bit too "in your face" for my taste. I much prefer the solid maple bodied Roscoe that I currently own. It has the Nord/Audere combo and the maple really seems to smooth out the tone nicely. |

Talk amongst yourselves! | I believe you will be hard pressed not to find the tone you want going with a Nord/Audere setup. You might however want to take a deeper look at which of the Nordstrand pickups you would install. I have Dual Coils om my Alder body SKB and love them yet I will be getting some Fat Stacks for my Cedar body LG and will be looking into some Big Splits for my Cedar body SKB fretless.
All the best,
Doug |

They are much more "open" sounding than the stock Barts. Pairing these with either the Aguilar OBP-3 or Audere preamps, and going with a swamp ash body, you'll probably be right in the groove tone wise.

Talk amongst yourselves! | I wanted to like Roscoe's for years, but never could get past the tone of the stock Bart/Bart setup.. Some of the new options available are night and day different, in a good way, IMO.. I've had three of them, one Bart/Demeter, one Nord Fat Stack/Bart, and now a Nord DC/Demeter.. The Nordstrands for me are the way to go.. I really liked the Fat Stacks in the LG I had.. Thought about dropping some of those in my SKB..
Try some of the new stuff they're using, and I think you'll be very happy. |

It opens the sound out a lot more! IMHO I think the best sound was whne they had the demeter/barts. Owesome sound! |

...OK, our good friend up there lives where? Baton Rouge, LA, right? Yes. OK, and his avatar is a nice pretty purple & gold Louisiana State University logo, right? Yes.
So, wouldn't you think his name might just be "LSU" in lower case, as in "lsu" and not "Isu"??? I mean, check the font, there's a difference between "I" and "l", isn't there?
Just tryin' to be helpful....
(I just think Clint's upset 'cuz there are no good college football teams in NC! )

As for NC, I am a transplant and do not pull for any of the teams, especially Duke or Carolina.
I did pull for LSU leading up to the championship game as you know. |

Would a set or Nordy's drop in place of the barts? I have the audere already.
