I saw it on the Atl Bass Gallery website and loved the looks of it and made the mistake of going down there to play it. I was hooked!
It's not something I wanted to do, but to acquire it I had to trade in my SKB3005. The one with the Red Mallee Burl top. One great Roscoe for a another great one. But the Century is my favorite body style and I really dig the sound of the Nordy/Audere electronics.
I'm really blown away by the craftsmanship that went into building this bass. I don't know how you guys at Roscoe do it, but it is amazing. This one has a Spalted Quilt Maple top (looks more flame than quilt to me), Spanish Cedar body, and an exhibition grade Cocobolo fingerboard.
So this is probably a good time to ask, where do I get a Roscoehead Club number?

The main difference is the body shape. And even though the LG is the smallest, that doesn't mean it's the lightest. My Century is the lightest of the ones I've had. Sometimes you pay more for lighter weight.
The Bart system on the Roscoes sound great! And I'm still experimenting with the Audere pre on my Century. Me love the Z mode switch long time!

Welcome to the Century Signature Club!

And please, please Sirs, no numbers. Roscoeheads are civilised gentlemen who don't need any number to proove what the have and who they are.
Seriously, I can't stand that new club fashion.

Welcome to the Century Signature Club! | Thanks Gard. I'm really enjoying this Century!
I've seen some basses sit for quite awhile at Jim's shop. But not the Mallee Burl SKB. It sold in about a week!

Seriously, I can't stand that new club fashion. | I understand what you're saying, man. I've always felt these forum clubs were a little silly. Only recently, with the acquisition of a new Nordy and the Century Signature, did I become giddy enough over a bass to ask to join a club. Number or not, I've been a Roscoehead since '92 when I bought an LG3000.

The tone of this Roscoe (and the other two I've owned) reminds me of how Dave Funk describes the tone of a Thunderfunk amp. IT THROWS TONE BOMBS! Isn't that a great description? So if I may coin his phrase, "Roscoes throw tone bombs!"

Someone with a sharper ear than mine may want to chime in on that.
I bet an exhibition grade coco top would look awesome. Personally, I like the fingerboard to contrast with the top. So I'd use something like birdseye maple or a nice piece of purpleheart sapwood.
