I always try to get down at least once a month but work has kept me from being able to make trip. It was just visiting the candy store. So after I was able to stop drooling over the basses, especially two very beautiful basses (I have to insert that Greg is the Heidi Fleiss of Roscoe basses, a true Pimp.)
Ok, back on topic.
I was talking to Gard about building a CS+4, so we went out into the shop to take a look at the magic wood pile. It was tough, there was some beautiful KOA and some Amboyna. Well, I just love me some Amboyna. So Gard and I looked at a couple pieces, we choose the best looking one of course. Picked out a piece of Alder for the body and a piece of Wenge for the Fingerboard.
For Electronics, I brought a Demeter Preamp, I will be going with the Bart JJ pickups in the Jazz position and an Oil finish.
I am so excited, this whole weekend I could only think of how great this bass is going to look, sound and play. This going to be the perfect compliment to my SKB3005. |

No pictures of the wood chosen???? What kinda Roscoehead are you????
Sounds like you're getting a CS "double" plus
Can't wait to see it come about.
If we can get Gard to put the coffee down, maybe he'll get some pics
God Bless, Ray

I wan't sure if they were willing to do the JJ p/u's with the Century Standard but apparently so. Very cool! The oil finish sould look killer too.
You definitely need to post some pic's of that top though!
....now if you can just talk them into installing black hardware! |

But I must admit "President of the Roscoe Owner's Club" would have made a nice pearl inlay.
Pictures will come later as Gard has time. It actually gets pretty busy and hectic at the shop so I don't want to bog him down. |

Nearly a week and a half and I don't see no pics. . All this after creating a permanent "photo area"
I ain't too thrilled about the level of photo production so far.
