Here is my newest family member: the Signature Century V on the left. She has an amboyna burl top, swamp ash body, and a fretless birdseye maple diamondwood fingerboard. The electronics: bartolini pickups and an audere preamp.

I ordered this beauty from the guys at The Perfect Bass. It was a pleasure working with Brandt, and it is always a pleasure working with Gard.

The middle bass, the LG3005, is very punchy. It has the old bart electronics. I thought about getting it the preamp replaced with the newer version, but I was and am scared about losing that "punchiness". Since it is working for me, I don't want to mess with anything. It is the only fretted bass that I have and it is very light.

The ebony SKB3005 has a lot of bottom end, but I wanted a bit more from the glassy highs. This one has the bart pre and nordie pickups. The bass is very smooth with an overall funky sound. I use this bass for jazz because of its smoothness.

The Century sig is my favorite. The overall ergonomic feel is awesome. She sits on my shoulder a little more balanced than the other two. This bass is a little more aggressive than the SKB3005, especially for a fretless: very low bottom end. The mids and highs are very smooth warm. The audere pre gives me so much control with the entire register of the mids and highs. The auder is by far my favorite preamp. This bass sounds great with all kinds of music, which is probably due to the preamp. I can dial in many different sounds. The bart pups/audere pre is by far my favorite electronic combination.

I guess I should mention that the comparisons were made through an Augilar stack and Eden amp.

Eric, man, you have quite the collection!

I really was happy with how the Century turned out...it was hard to pack and ship that one, it REALLY wanted to go home with me...

...but in the end, I was able to coax it into the case and give it to the guy in the brown truck...

...you're welcome.
