NEW ROSCOE DAY!!!!!!!!!!!

I just couldn't help myself.. You guys know how it is..

I was getting frustrated with my Elrick New Jazz Standard, and made the mistake of picking up this Onyx beauty. It took all of 15 seconds to realize that I had to have this bass.

So, a trade and a little tiny bit of cash, and I'm once again a proud Roscoe owner! I will have no problem whatsoever waiting for my Bubinga goddess (#6113) to be built, since I have two Roscoes to keep me company!!

Gard... These Standards are absolutely FANTASTIC! All the feel and tone, without all the fancy. Man, sometimes you really don't need all the fancy! I love this thing!

Incredible score man, them standards are sheer class, congratulations!
Love the Onyx and maple!

The neck profile, same as the others, isn't it?

Wow...cool!

My next two basses will be Cen Std's as well, I'm planning a pair of 5's, they're GREAT basses!

Thank you, sir Darkstrike!

And yeah, the neck profile sure feels the same. I was tired of fighting with the massive neck on that Elrick, and the tone just wasn't doing it for me. I've said it so many times, but I'll say it again and again - Roscoe makes the absolute best 5 string neck I've ever touched. I actually sound like I know how to play when I'm holding this thing!

There's only one massive downside... I'm at work right now, and won't get to play it through my rig for another 4 hours (I skipped out of work to go play it side by side with the Elrick).

But! I have a rehearsal tonight! So it all evens out..

Yes, sir. They most Certainly are amazing!

You know what would be even more amazing? Maybe do a limited run of white with black grain enhancement, matching headstock, and black hardware.

I'd be ALL over that!

Nice! Fretted and fretless, I assume?

Exactly how I feel, my other fiver was a bear, heck, I'd pretty much decided I was a 4 guy for good, but said I'd take one last look at a fiver, never knew I'd be able to get one that feels this comfortable, thats for sure. Might not be a great player, but I'm much more comfy doing it!

Ouch, I'd be bouncing off the walls.

So.... should I start saving now? I really miss being a "Roscoehead". I must get back in at some point.

RTL, congrats!!!! That's a beautiful bass.

I've only owned two 5 string basses in my life. First one was a Ritter Classic 5 and my current SKB. I got rid of the Ritter to buy my SKB....the neck was the main reason why. Roscoe necks feel like they were made by bass players for bass players.

Amen, brother!

I was in love with Ritter basses too, and was all set to order one - until I played a Roscoe.

Anyone who hasn't tried one of the Century Standards out... Man, you guys don't know what you're missing! If you can deal without fancy woods and a matching headstock, this is absolutely the best bass you can touch for under $3K. Period.

I just finished rehearsal, and I have to say... This is the best sounding fretted bass I've ever owned (check my profile - that's saying a LOT!). I do not miss the Elrick at all after playing this one... It's just incredible!

Got a Century Signature last friday... and I don't know if I can do without the fancy wood.

It's a piece of art as well as it is an amazing instrument.

Bassdirect.co.uk has a Century Standard 4-string fretless in stock, I would jump on it but the fretlines bother me.

Yes, I know, I'm sorry... I'm a snob.

Oh yeah, and to chime in on the Roscoe praises:

A lot of you say they offer amazing 5-strings. Have no clue about that.
But I'm a 4-string fretless player, even for that a Roscoe is a killer bass.

Roscoe has took all my GAS away for a fretted bass.
Most likely my next bass will be a Roscoe, and definately a 4-string fretless.
I just don't know what I want/need yet.

I plan on getting a custom next, but in the future I want a fretless 5, and I'm pretty sure it'll be a Century Standard. Hearing this only makes me want one more!
