The push/pull pot that controls the mid boost frequency pops very loudly when I pull it out. After the first time, I can push/pull it at will and only get the minimal click I would expect. If I leave it be for a few mins, it will then pop very loudly again. Very annoying.
Have any of you seen this problem before? Is there a fix? I'm not always able to stomp on my tuner (mute) when I want to pull the switch, and not muting first lights my clip indicators and pierces my eardrums. Thanks. |

Some guitar players at Church have this problem and what they do is just engage/disengage the switch several times to release the load, then they're fine for the day.
Not too sure how this happens, but it kinda falls in-line with the Audere Z-Mode switch. Whenever I would change modes, I would get a loud popping, but it lessened if I turned the volume down.
All in all, amps do not like switches in resistance.
Hope this helps.
Best,
Justin

Wire 2 x 1Mohm resistors in parallel to ur DPDT pins if you don't already have em.

Those resistors are easily sourced (RadioShack), and it's a very simple procedure. We now do this on all of the OBP-3's in the shop, sorry about the issue on yours, it must indeed be an early one!

I'm pretty handy with a soldering gun, so shouldn't be a problem.
Btw, my parents live in Hickory, and I've got close friends in Greensboro and Kernersville. I'm planning to spend some time down that way around Thanksgiving time. I'd love to come by the Roscoe HQ on the way down or back. What are the visiting hours, and are there any holiday hours I should be aware of? Thanks. |

The only days we won't be here over Thanksgiving is the day itself, although depending on how the Friday afterward goes, we may shut down early. Let me know when you want to stop by, and I'll make sure to be here - as long as it isn't during the Saints/Cowboys game!

Wire 2 x 1Mohm resistors in parallel to ur DPDT pins if you don't already have em. Attachment 186197 | Could the value of the push/pull (500k for example) or the wiring schematic connecting pickups/preamp have anything to do with this popping symptom?
FWIW-I have a 250k value, audio taper in my SKB that is joined to my Audere 4-way and Nordy DCs. No popping symptoms WHATSOEVER at any volume. |

A pot with a switch stacked on top of it, they don't interfere with each other unless you wire it in a way that does so. Unlike pots, switches goes from zero ohm - infinity, nothing in between.
