plan to order my first Roscoe

Hey Folks, I am planning to get my first Roscoe. I cosider to the versatility of the bass--warm low end, punch mid and good high end. I already got a bass for punk and some heavy stuff. So this time, the bass, for mainly church use, jass, blues, pop and I hope that I can do some slap on it too.

I know Roscoe is a good choice with reasonable price, so I decided to have one in the coming future. I am cosider to have the following combination, give me advise, I need you guys help.

SKB 3005 (35")
Spanish Cedar body
Exhibition grade cocobolo figerboard(besides outlook, any sound different of ordinary cocobolo?)
1 piece maple neck
Graphtech nut
Black hardware
Nordstrand DC5
Aguliar obp3 w/passive tone control, coil tap switch and preamp bypass( actually I don't it can add bypass or not)
Figured Maple top
custom 12th fret inlay
natural finish

give me opinion~ thanks

Looks great, If you want more snap to on the high end side I would go with a swamp ash body instead of Spanish cedar.

Nice - Cedar will give you a nice tonal range with the Nordies and the Aggie, especially for the range of music you'll be playing. As JZ said, more snap with ash, but if you're not doing a lot of slap, this could fit the bill nicely!

I really like the Roscoe wedge necks. They look awesome and really seem to be a bit more stable.
My favorite is the maple/cocobolo/maple wedge neck with the cocobolo finger board.

I've owned several Roscoe's with the purpleheart FB and several with the cocobolo. IMO it's hard to say if there's any drastic tonal differences between the two. Too many other contributing factors (neckwood, p/u's, preamp, body wood and body top).
The finger board on Roscoe's isn't real thick so IMO it figures in less on defining the overall sound.

Nope.

We do a three piece maple neck for the Century Standard, but we don't offer any one piece necks.

hkroy, your combinations are good, and I'd heed jz's advice, if you want a bit more attack/punch/snap overall, get swamp ash instead of the Spanish cedar. Both are excellent choices and will serve well, if you lean toward fingerstyle, get the cedar, if you lean toward slap (or like me just prefer a more aggresive tone overall), get the ash.
