Roscoe 3006 sold for $2250 :-)

People of the Low End,

I have news. YES, the bass did finally sell for $2250. A guy saw my ad on Bassgear and drove in from out of state to pick it up.
Despite all the marketing acumen out there, it really did come down to finding the right buyer. I'm not saying that anyone was wrong with their advice but simply that finding the right buyer is all it takes. Everyone offered solid analysis. :-)
IMHO, he got a good deal for a bass that I paid $2700 new. The good news is that I didn't have to pay ebay or Paypal fees AND I basically got my asking price.
Hopefully, bass by bass, Roscoes will fetch more on the used market.
I want to thank everyone who contributed and offered some insight on the market status.
Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Congrats!! As the car salesmen say (when I used to sell cars...)

...there's an @ss for every seat. It does indeed come down to the right buyer.

Sorry for the saying...one of the reasons I don't sell cars anymore. There's another famous one but it's too vulgar to post.

It's funny how people think Ebay is the answer to everything - but in reality I have managed to do better selling basses locally or through shops!

The bottom line is that as long as owners are willing to sell their Roscoes for $2K and less, it'll be hard to see the resale value rise.

The market is nothing more than a reflection of what happens in the real world.

Personally I've at least seen the listing prices for used Roscoes start to go significantly higher. Not that they are selling for those prices but that's where it starts.......
Yes! A year ago some guy bought an IP310 used at a low low price, didn't play it or know anything about it kept it for a couple of days then needing the money sold it for $1800 setting a new low price. At that price I wouldn't sell mine. Fortunately that has swung back up. Roscoes don't have a terrible resale value. You just have to find the bassist that's looking for yours!
