I'll start. I could find pic's of 12 of them. I can't find one of my first but I'll keep looking (I found a pic;see post #34)....(I also owned one of the 3006's twice).
Here they are.......

Fun idea for a thread. Here are my three contributions.
1. SKB3006 FL. (I can't remember the s/n.) Spanish cedar/maple, diamondwood, Bart/Bart. This was the axe where Gard said, "No neck for you!" I know I've got better pics, but I can't prove it right now. I owned this one from ~ 2001 to ~ 2005.
On to the current fleet...
2. SKB3006, #5520. This one is played on just about every gig and session. From a business perspective, it replaced my trusty ol' Modulus Q6. Myrtle over ash, purpleheart, Bart/Bart.
3. SKB3006 FL, #5907. Oh my. Still new, and I'm loving it! It replaced my old Zon Sonus S/C fretless. Burl/spalted maple on ash, ebony, Bart/Bart. It's damn sexy.
A little more of the current goodies... |

An SKB3005 with a Red Mallee Burl top. I traded this one for the one below.

That one was built after seeing the top wood posted on Blueberryhill Basses web site. I called Jay right away and committed to that one. Definitely the best looking spalted maple top that I've ever seen.....
Probably shouldn't have let it get away........but that goes for most of 'em!
The good thing though is that I've never had a bad Roscoe so there's always another one being made that'll equally knock your socks off! |

It looks like a flame maple top, but that dark ring formed by the bookmatch is soooo cool. It reminds me a bit of the bass that you currently have in the works, in terms of super-cool symmetry on the top. What's the fretboard?
Thanks,
Greg Quote:

Thanks,
Greg | Greg,
I think you mean the one on the right. If so, the spec's are as follows:
SKB 3005 body style
Swamp Ash body with enhanced grain
Mac Ebony Finger board
Aguilar OBP-3 pre with coil tap for pickups
Nordstrand pickups
Exhibition myrtle burl (flame)
Diamondwood nut
Black Hardware
I had it made in Dec 2006. It was inspired by a picture of an LG in a Thread on the Roscoe forum that a dealer was having made. Keith said he had enough from that piece of wood to make another bass so I went for it.
The bass was actually suppose to have the book matched top reversed but unfortunately it couldn't be done (hence the ring in lieu of the )( look).
Still it turned out very nice...
A very aggressive sounding Roscoe (Aggie, ash and Nords).

You guys are really not helping me here. Even though I just became a Roscoe dealer, I'm already jonesing for one pretty badly... I'm passing through Greensboro Friday morning, so I plan to stop in and meet Gard and the guys... something tells me I might end up spec'ing a bass for myself while I'm there...
I can't afford this, but I also can't stop myself |
