OOOOHHHHHWWWWMMMMMM.

I am picking up signals that my bass will be done this week, and that Gard is going to send me some new pics to update everyone with.

Really though, I am constantly amazed at all the guys in this group of Roscoeites.

I thought that I wouldn't possibly be able to have G.A.S for another wood combination considering the fact that I have a pretty wide variety of top and body woods. But every time I see one of the basses that you guys have coming, I can't help myself.

Is it just me, or do Roscoes just keep getting more beautiful and amazing every day.

I never was that much of a spalted top fan, but HOLY CREEPING CRUD Gardman, those new tops you put up are UNFREAKINGBELIEVABLE!!!!!

Forgive me, I forgot to introduce myself, My name is Joel B. and I am a Roscoeholic.

Thanks Gard for the updated pics

Joel -

Your neck is in the batch that will be getting final shaped next week. The body is not in a very "photogenic" state, as it is between coats of paint right now, and very chalky looking. Once it's going into final sanding/buffing, I'll send you a couple shots of it and the neck to drool over and taunt your fellow bassists with.

Exclamation

An unconfirmed sighting was made of one SKB 3005 serial #5471 today, all that this reporter was able to capture was a fleeting photograph of a headstock, apparantly ready to be sprayed one last time with finish before being fretted.

Here is that photograph:

I knew it, the stars are aligned perfectly today.

Now, Venus better get out of Wooten's house before his wife finds out or ole' Vic is gonna have some " 'splaining to do".

Thanks Gard for the update. I just have one more famous reporter quote to add. " Oh , the humanity!!!!

I orderd Nordies for the pickups, and the pics show Bartolinis.

I know it's an easy fix, so I am still over the moon about the way she looks.

How does she play? Talk to ya soon. Have a great weekend, and thanks for all your help Gardfather

And the piece de resistance.

I am also going to have THG make me some wooden controll knobs out of amboyna for her.

The eight months were worth the wait. Just a little tweaking, and she is the girl of my dreams.

For now

Now a full run down of the components:
Skb 3005
Swamp ash body
amboyna burl top
wenge fretboard
wenge/maple/wenge wedge neck
Demeter 3 band Pre amp
diamond wood nut
(Nordstrand) Pickups
Keith and Gard magic dust.

Awesome looking bass!
The THG knobs will look great. Roger did an excellent job on some for my Roscoe!

Thanks guys, I am really pleased with the way it turned out.

It doesn't screem " Look at me " , but is very classy and still, in my opinion beautiful.

Keith and Gard always seem to do things better than what you imagine when you start the process of getting a custom bass from them.

I can't wait until I get to play it.

Hi Gard, just wondering if ole dusty top was back home yet for her new voice.

If so, how does she play/sound? I really do value your input, so if ya get the chance to try her out, if you could give me a description of her characteristics I would really appreciate it.

Thanks again for all of your help.
