Here's a short one. Mahogany body, maple top, katalox fingerboard (similar to ebony) and a Demeter preamp.

Will,
I personally like that one...perhaps more than the linear set-up. It's more classic Roscoe style.

(But really, both would be just fine. With only 3 knobs, you can't go wrong.)

Thanks Jon, they're both fine...and this one would be a little more flexible for adding a preamp if I decide to.

This is a fretless SKB6000. This bass is incredible.

HG Thor said I can send it in to be epoxied. Ive been waiting in line over a year. I hope Im doing the right thing. Ive never played an epoxied bass.

Hey Gard, will the cherry diamondwood , take an epoxy OK, you think ?

Funk,
My input only.....but if you have a diamondwood board, stop there. Don't expoy it, even it if will "stick" to the diamondwood. To me, you can't get a better fingerboard for a fretless, regardless of brand of bass.

Hey, what does the bass sound like WITHOUT the FX?

Leave it be - epoxying the diamondwood is like painting paint! It is ALREADY an epoxy finish, in essence!!!

Diamondwood (aka "phenowood" or "pakkawood") is typically laminated birch (not cherry, my personal fingerboard is a rare bit of bird's eye maple diamondwood) that has been put in a vacuum with an epoxy resin to draw the resin through the entire board, then it is put in a press at 600 psi and baked for a time.

IMO, this is every bit as good as any fingerboard that has been epoxied by any process, if not better, and it won't wear off!! It CAN'T wear off!!!!! It is also the most stable fingerboard you can find.

Glad to be of assistance!

That stuff really can be sanded and buffed out over and over, so it's a great fingerboard for fretless!
