After walking away from music for a decade this was the first time I'd been on a gig - it was spur of the moment call earlier that day, totally not my thing musically and as pathetic as it sounds, yes, I had to read charts to play James Taylor and Beatles covers... LOL! I know, I know - But I've never played in a cover band and I didn't come up on that sort of music, gimme a Real-Book or anything from mo-town and it's a different story. The sound is totally just the little condenser mic built into the video recorder.
So while that sounds like a list of excuses to save face, that's really not my intention. Rather, it's to point out that under most unfavorable conditions, listen to that Roscoe growl and bite despite the horrible sound quality et al. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vmfAFX53cOA
Also, because this is one of those instances where a picture can explain better than a thousand words, here's the bass rig:
FYI, not that it's worth anything but that singer pops up in a lot of movies and HBO specials and the keys is B.J Lieberman who, if anyone is a fan of NPR radio writes all the music and jingles for their broadcasts and shows.... Whoopdy doo right.. As a disclaimer I'll simply say, it is what it is, I got paid - but there's a sound byte of the Roscoe.... About as raw as it gets, FWIW...

No need to tread lightly, my skins thick and I don't overreact or read too much into e-correspondence; always give the benefit there's a smile at the other end that I just can't see.

With a sixer, unless you've got Gumby wrists or tentacles for fingers, you have to wear it high or the B-string is out of reach. And that ain't no good, 'cause that's where all the yummiest notes are.
