What about Neutrik NP2RX style plugs?
I'm fabbing up some of my own cables and I'd like to know what to get. |

Work just like a good quality plug should (and I think they look great if that matters at all) Right Angled Cable Troubles

I had been using 2 Warwick Thumb Basses and had replaced my wireless ends with NP2RX-BAG - Neutrik Mono Right Angle 1/4 Inch Plugs. I was delighted when I received my first Roscoe Bass and it fit great! No problems. It plugs all the way in.

Bayou cables has a backorder of several weeks so I'm making my own cables for a fraction of the cost from the Canare L4E6S Star Quad twisted pair mic cable I already have. It should theoretically be even better for noise rejection than GS-6. |

I finally broke down and just removed the nut spacer from the jack (on the new Roscoe). Works like a charm and only took a few minutes. |

I just fabbed up a few cables with the G&H RF2P-NNN (standard nickel, 90°) plug and high-quality Canare L4E6S Star Quad mic cable. The knurled area on the G&H angle plug looks like it JUST contacts the black jack surround... enough so that plug movement in the jack starts to grind the black finish off the instrument jack.
Maybe it's just my jacks? |

I took the two black wood screws out to have a look. The jack assembly only comes out about 3/4" because the ground wire is not long enough. Do you hold down the hex nut with a wrench while physically unscrewing the black jack surround? |

I will say though that the last couple that I've done must have been tightened down by Superman though! I had a hard time getting the nut to break free. Maybe I'm just getting weak in my old age! |

It has a Monster cable 90 plug inserted. There's about 1/16" clearance from the jack plate to the plug shaft (when inserted). |

While I will admit that I had an accident a while back while sleeping, my wife assured me that she was trimming her toe nails and the hedge clippers simply slipped!
