OK, feed our disease!

Give us the spec's !

I've got a feeling that this is going to be good!

P.S. The fact that you're having your own Roscoe's built from scratch indicates that you may be turning from your old poaching ways!

Since there are a few LATE comers to the party, how 'bout we start with one picture to get mouths watering. . .

Here is the block that BOTH necks will be cut from. About 6 necks will be cut from this block. Purpleheart STINKS to high heaven when being cut, but well worth it--that's one HARD wood and I just love the smooth feel, unlike the wenge neck.

I call it "Purpleheart Lovers Dream" aka Wedge neck with PH center and stringers. My necks will be 35" and shaved down like Gard's.

Oh, yeah. . . these will be INSTANT classics with some VERY appealing tops hand picked by yours truly.

Hopefully the recovery from POACHing will be easy on me. I've got a lot of close friends and counselors (thanks, Crash) working me through it. Now I'm not embarrassed to say:

"I'm dataBASS, and I'm a POACH-aholic. On my honor it's been 6 months since my last POACH."

*group chimes in* Hi, data!

I'm thinking that this will be a very fun thread!

I love watching Roscoe's come together from scratch! Just amazing!

How 'bout some full spec's Data?

If you can't purchase a Roscoe, the next best thing is getting to witness some one else get one!

Speaking of such.....I finally got Leurastus (a local middle GA TB'er) to make the Roscoe plunge (again)! This time it was for a more standard 35" scale Roscoe (first one was a 34" scale w/19m string spacing). I'm pumped to be able to have another local to talk Roscoe basses with!

All in due time, my good man.

Here's a couple more of the neck since that got such a good response:

Wedge neck from the back of the headstock down:

Neck channeled for graphite and truss rod. If you have exceptional eyes you can see where this neck was initially spec'd @ 34" before I changed my order to 35" scale. You may even be able to guess the body top of one of my basses.

Interesting shot of the neck with the truss/graphite rods. Are the graphite rods standard for all necks? Or only for specific models?

Yes, all necks have graphite although I think certain fingerboards require doubling up on graphite.

THIS IS WHY (no matter what LS Boo! tells you) Roscoe necks don't have issues.

No sweat. Hey, when are we going to see your avatar on the Roscoe website and how can we get access to the demo Gard saw w/ the chick in the vest?

Hmmmmm... how best to answer that. I'll be comfortable giving those in the world of all things Roscoe the first viewing very soon. One of the things I learned after 16 years at Sony was this. Soon Only Not Yet...

I believe the top on one of those basses might be ziricote....

What about Toneless Cactus Loco? He could be the one that crossed the line and lost his Roscoe.... or should that part be played by LSU?

Yes indeedy, that part should be played by Mr. Isu, whose name should be changed to Chumpdog for pulling his LG off the classifieds. (In reality, thanks for saving me from coughing up $2200.00-that thing is too SIC!)

As for true improvisational prowess, who could mistake that unique signature blues progression for none other than our very own "2 Thumbs Clint", who characterized the garage band phrase, "if you can't feel it, play it anyway".

I realize there isn't much in the way of GOOD college football in Arizona, but for the last time it's..

LSU

See the Tiger up there..
