roscoe six on the bay

Theres a cool roscoe sixer on the bay which looks good except the headstock logo is weird! Even has the circular stamp on the back of the headstock but its too small to read the numbers. Thoughts any experts?
Heres a link to the photo gallery from the listing

Looks to me like it was refinished to me.

Could be but the logo makes it look like a fake.

That is definitely not the original "R" if it is indeed an actual Roscoe...which it appears to be. Based on all the features, this would be a fairly recent (within the past 5-7 years) build, and if a serial number could be found, we should be able to identify it from that.

...not diggin' the tapered B, E, & A strings, I'm guessin' there's some wonkyness happening with the tone on those...they never quite work on our basses...

...if someone can snag a serial number, I'll be happy to see if anything matches up!

I really want a SKB 3006 right now, but man, that banana pudding color is just not doing it for me.

(no offense meant to whoever chose the color ... or to bananas ... or to baby food manufacturers)

OK, I finally got a chance to show those photos to Keith, and guess what...he immediately said "I remember that bass! I don't remember WHY we did that, but we did indeed do that here in the shop."

So, there you go - it's legit!

lol

It does look a bit like banana pudding! Yum, Yum!

I'm surprised that Keith compromised his "R" style logo. I would have definitely been suspicious prior Keith validating it.

Love the response from Keith!

Jim - I know we chatted offline about another bass, but just in case you haven't seen this:

New Arrival - USED Roscoe SKB-3006
