Now, as everyone knows, I'm a midrange fanatic, I love the stuff, but not at the expense of fundamental.
FYI, the SVT 810 cab frequency response drops like a rock at ~60hz, and the E string on a bass is 41.2hz, so you're not hearing any fundamental through that cab on anything below the B on the A string (which is 61.74hz).... | +1. I've made salesmen angry with me when I say I'll pass on anything Ampeg. It just does not have a "true realistic" tone to me. Sure, it'll get loud but so will a firetruck if you stand right next to it.

It is funny though how playing a certain bass or amp on a certain night just somehow manages to create magic! It may never happen again but oh the magic was there that moment!
I wonder how many basses and amps have been purchased based on those "magic moments" only to find that the mojo just can't be roused again.....?
I once purchased an Elrick 5 based on one of those "Magic moments".....I guess I should have added the Aggie 750 and Epi 410 cabinet I was playing through into the recipe/formula too...That Elrick never sounded that warm or big again.... |

I've got a handful of shows I'm flying out to over the next few months, so I'm strongly considering grabbing the 6.0 for those and just throwing it in my gig bag and using whatever cab they provide.
The last one I went to, the sound company provided an SVT classic and Ampeg 410... yuck! These gigs are all ministry events in churches, so I have to keep the volume really low, so the tubes don't even get a decent workout, so it basically sounds like mud. It's pretty funny, though, I gave them a list of amps that I would be good with using (GB being at the top, followed by eden, aguilar, trace elliot, etc) and concluded the list with "basically anything but ampeg." And so they provide an Ampeg.
Anyways, I've been thrilled with my GB stuff, so I highly recommend checking it out!

I play with 2 Bergantino EX112 cabs and the sound is awesome! If you are thinking about a NEW bass head, the 6.0 is a good choice! |

Thats why I value all of your feedback. The wife and I live a really busy life w/4 acres,3 kids, 2 horses, 3 goats, dog, cat, parents live close by etc. I'll let you all know when I land something and I'm really looking forward to taking this Roscoe tone to another level. |

Sounds like you've got a great portable rig and didn't break the bank doing it! Awesome! |
