Roscoe truss rod wrench..is it a standard size?

I'm in the midst of enjoying my very first Roscoe, she's absolutely wonderful, the neck looks like it needs a turn of the TR,the action came to me suuuper low,it sounds great, but it obviously can play better with a tweak of the old truss rod.

my bass is preowned and didn't come with a truss rod tool.

I'd like to get the Allen key so I could adjust it if I need to,in case it shifts on tour,or before a gig.

Is it a particular size?
or gauge?
can it be ordered fairly cheaply online?
or is it a standard size that I can get at a music or hardware store?

I'd like to buy one without shlepping my bass to the hardware store.

Make sure that the one that you use has a shorter leg than std. or you'll damage the finish of the instrument. The wrench that comes with the Roscoe is 15/16" long (on the end that goes into the end of the neck).

CORRECTION:

It's 9/64"!!!

Joe is also correct for SOME of the basses (usually older models) the "short" end of the wrench may need to be shortened a bit to fit, as the trussrod sometimes sits a bit "back" in the neck and there isn't a lot of room between the nut and the dimple in the body. Takes a few seconds with a grinding wheel to get it right.

I keep a couple sets of "Eklind" brand Allen wrenches around. The 9/64" wrench fits my newer Roscoes' truss rods without having to be shortened. If you can find a set of that brand, I think it'll work.

Gard's a nice helpful chap, too, and he'll probably mail you a wrench if you're not able to find a suitable one.

Good luck!
