Okay, so first of all, I am in no way trying to steal Mike's thunder here (as you all know, I have about 1/10th his ability on a good day), but I thought I would let you guys know that I'll be performing live with Phil Wiseman on a talk show called "Good Day Austin" on May 20th
For those in the Austin area... Well, you guys know it's Fox 7, somewhere around 5am .
However.
Those of you who aren't in the Austin area can still watch me suck out loud on live TV, via streaming webcast by going here: MyFoxAustin
(Scroll about halfway down, and you'll see the link. It's there even when the show isn't on.)
Not sure which Roscoe I'll be playing for this one, since I still don't know which songs we'll be playing.. But! It will be a Roscoe, and it will be on TV!
PS: Mike/Jerry/Steve/Gard/Joe/Greg/etc/etc/etc
Feel free to channel some real groove my way. I wanna make the extended family proud!

That will be 6:00 AM Ga. time. That's about the time that I arrive at work. I'll put it on my Outlook calender to make sure I don't forget. |

I can't wait to watch. Have a blast and please share with us the story. (And don't forget about us when you make it big. ) |

I know you're going to do great, Ryan!
Are they going to give you guys a DVD of the show? |

Joe: Maybe you'll be groggy enough to miss all the bad notes!
Sir Darkstrike: We should sync up our watches and take a shot right before I go on. You're not really Irish unless you start drinking before noon, right?
Jerry: Thanks, man! It's not a huge deal to be playing on this show, but I'm happy to have the chance to poke a hole in the "Fender filter" Austin is known for.... Oh, and if I ever did "make it big", I'd recommend you as my "ghost" in the studio.
Mr. Kirk: Hopefully all will go well! I have no idea if they'll give us a copy of it, but honestly, I'm not sure it'll be something I'll want to keep forever. You'll see what I mean (the drummer has such an awkward back-and-forth rocking feel to his playing, you just might find your DVR on the floor when you get home!).
Greg: I'll definitely do my best not to decrease Roscoe sales in your part of the country .
Seriously, guys. Thanks for the support! No matter the outcome, I'm pumped to play this thing and delighted that I can share it with all youz fellow Roscoeheads!

While I definitely won't achieve your kind of brilliance on the fretless by then (it's looking like I'll be pulling #5778 for the main song), I'm at least confident that I'll make these clowns sound half decent (if there's one thing I can give myself credit for, it's being able to compensate for a lousy drummer - I've had LOTS of practice!).
Who knows? I might even be willing to wear a Roscoe T-shirt on the air!

Now that just says it all.. |

Now that just says it all.. | Truer words were never spoken.
Maybe Jerry's a prophet underneath all that groove? I don't know about you guys, but I can see him wearing a white robe, dictating "The Book of Roscoe" to one of his disciples from behind a curtain.
Jerry: "And it came to pass that the Word of Roscoe was engraved upon these plates of Myrtle, Koa, Bubinga, and Buckeye Burl. The plates were then hidden in the majestic hills of California, awaiting their discovery by The Chosen One..."
Disciple: "Cool! Can I see them?"
J: "No. Only The Chosen One can gaze upon the sacred plates!"
D: "I won't tell....."
J: "Silence! Allowing a mere mortal to gaze upon the sacred plates would make Keith angry!"
D: *drops to knees* "Praise Keith... Praise Keith... Sculptor of wood. Purveyor of tone. Ohmmmmm."
J: "It's a full moon tonight."
D: "Yay! Time to sacrifice a non-believer?"
J: "Precisely. Then you get to drink the kool-aid."
D: "But the kool-aid makes me dizzy..."

See what happens when too much caffeine meets boredom at work?
I'm still trying to decide whether I should go to bed really early after work and wake up around 1am, or just pull an all-nighter and hope I can keep myself upright for the gig.. Decisions, desicions...

It involves putting a poorly set up 7-string fretless in my hands and suspending me over a shark tank in a "Play for your life" scenario...
But I like it!
