Something about Keith's neck size, taper, radius, etc. that makes a very comfortable 6.
| I agree, I thought I would have to give up on playing 6's but the Roscoe neck is so comfortable, my Yamaha TRBP always left me in pain after playing for a while.

I did find out, however, that my bass really does sound great for both slapping and fingerstyle playing without needing to boost or cut anything when leaving both pickups in Single Coil mode. But I do think the fingerstyle tone on my bass sounds best in Series.

Well, it's a challenge to do audiophile comparisons at a guitar show because you're essentially playing in a big barn (!!)
BUT, I remember it being very articulate, upper mid emphasis, very even in output across the fingerboard (but with an authoritative B), and surprising upper end. Maybe it had the Aguilar preamp but Brian usually orders Roscoes with the all-Bart setup.
Beautiful myrtle on the top and ash in the back.

Happy Sunday | Everything about this rig makes me feel all warm and fuzzy. I used to want a Roscoe, but then my GAS turned back to P-Basses. This image gives me Roscoe GAS again. Thanks a lot!

However the reaction when I play an unlined 6 string on a gig even from folks not as musically inclined is "How do you know where you are?" That said I have way more woodshedding to do to get the upper register in tune. But its just a matter of practice. I have considered sending the neck to Keith for lines but I'd probably regret it. Perhaps some more subtle markings like an F bass rather than full lines would be ideal.
I really like having matching fretted and fretless Roscoes. The low end on the fretless is massive. Sounds like a mile long piano string. I'm getting used to the C and getting a great tone, if not great intonation but it will get there.
