SKB Balance

Hello everyone,
I am new to this forum. I am planning on purchasing a fretless six string bass. A roscoe is definitely high on my list of possible basses. If I get a Roscoe I think it will be an SKB with Spanish cedar body with standard maple top and Diamondwood finger board. Here is my question. Can anyone out there tell me how this type of bass balances? I am very concerned about the neck position and I find that a bass does not balance correctly on my unless the upper horn extends to the 12th fret. From the pictures I have seen I don't think the SKB upper horn extends that far. Anyway, if somebody can shed som light on this subject I would really appreciate it.

Roscoe Century models have longer horns than the SKB. I find the balance on my SKB's to be just fine but, it depends on how the rest on "your" body.

I have no balance issues with mine. Sits in the lap well, and standing I use a Moody 4" strap. Very comfortable.

Fretless 6er? Just don't get it in a completely all black finish

As for balance, I played an SKB3006 and a Century VI last summer in Florida at Bass Central to see the difference. I couldn't put the Century down. Nice balance, feel, playability, tone - excellent. Neither one has neck dive, but the Century kicks it back just a little nicer - at least for me.

Diamondwood fingerboard....YES!!!

My SKB3006 balances really nice, but I think the longer horn on the Century puts the bass back in a position that if you wear your bass high up on your body you can reach the 1-3 frets more comfortably. Gard at Roscoe turned me on to "Comfort Strapp" brand straps, these are made from neoprene and are very comfy. I bargained mine at GC for $26 and well worth the money.
