SKB3000?

Hi Gard,

Just been having a look through the Roscoe site and the "Roscoe Family" page
gives the impression, within the "standard bass models" box, that the SKB3000 is available.

Above that however, in the text, the SKB is described as only being available for 5,6,7,& 8 string models. What's correct?

As you know Gard, I've had Poptart price up an LG3000 with you on my behalf (what do you think of the spec, btw? And how will it sound, do you think?).

I have always preferred the SKB bodyshape to that of the LG (actually, it's not so much the shape - I like the LG well enough - it's the size). So... is the SKB3000 actually a viable and available model now?

Your public demands to know!

cheers,
Scoop

Hi Scoop,
I remember reading a question similar to this a while back on another thread. I did a search, but nothing came up. Anyway, Gard said in that thread that the SKB3000 is an option. They don't do many of them, but they can if you want. Just don't believe him if he tells you it will take 4-6 months for a custom order...

Scoop, it's on the price list, and it is priced the same as the LG 3000.

I never quote 4-6 months now, it's 6-8.

Gard,
Does that mean it's really going to be 10 months?

Just giving you a hard time. I'm glad you guys are busy. It's because you're making such great basses.

What I'm after is a spanish cedar body with an exhibition grade flamed redwood top, nords and auderes, standard purpleheart & maple neck with an african tulipwood 'board.

4 string. For a change.

The SKB body shape is sounding good.

My Friend Gard - do you have, and can you post, a pic of an SKB3000 so that I can get a visual sense of the proportions?

I'd be much obliged.

Scoop.

PS - btw - be busy. I'm pleased for you; and you give me more time to raise the necessary.

No, it's more like 6 months wait and then you get to the two more weeks stage. How long is that you ask? Well, about "two weeks"

No, nor me!

I want to stick with the SKB shape if possible because - and this is not widely known so keep it to yourself - SKB actually stands for "Scoop's Killer Basses".

Cool idea. Bass NW actually had an SKB3000 in their gallery pages, but the gallery seems to have disappeared. It looked very cool though....

:: Bump::

Do you have any SKB3000 pics, Gard?

It'd help me in my decision.

cheers,

Scoop

I thought it stood for "Smith Killing Bass". Everyone knows that a Roscoe is a Ken Smith Killer when it comes to quality, tone, playability and customer service!
