Well I think I'm in love with this one I see first Roscoe with walnut top...is there big difference between maple vs. walnut top and purple heart vs. maple board on Roscoe instruments?...thanks W.

Not to my ears. I doubt that you'd hear much difference on that bass whether it had a purpleheart or a maple finger board. IMO the ash body will have much more affect on the overall tone of that bass. Should be very a aggressive sounding bass.

Very nice looking Roscoe!

I like the maple board with the walnut inlay.

Ooh...someone's been visiting the BassNW website. What a gorgeous bass!

I'm a BIG fan of the ash/walnut combo. IME walnut is more aggressive - meaning it emphasizes the mids/upper mids - than maple, and on an ash body the result is a lot of focus and "quickness" to the attack. In general, I think maple boards emphasize this a bit more than purpleheart, but that's certainly subjective as well.

This is definitely one bass I'd love to hear.

That Walnut top is pretty hot and I love the matching inlay!

I concur, really beautiful instrument in this post.

Speaking of inlay, what is that symbol that Keith uses at the 12th fret? Reminds me of the meteorological sign for a hurricane.

I am sure it has been discussed, but I "mis-remembered" to quote the Rocket

Man!

That is one wicked looking LG3006!
What a crazy buckeye burl top! And the birdseye maple finger board goes with it very nicely.

Congratulations! That's an awesome walnut top! One of the nicest that I've seen.
That bass actually began the GAS that resulted in my recent purchase of a ziracote topped 3006 with a maple finger board.
I really love the constrast between the dark top and the maple finger board.

Definitely post some sound clips when you get a chance.
