String suggestions fro my LG3000

Hey folks,
I am planning on slapping a new set of strings on my new Roscoe and am looking for suggestions as to what to put on.
I find the current strings, original to the bass seem a little thin to me, not sounding, just playing.
Any suggestions...

I sure like the DR Nickel Low Riders and Black Beauties.
Been using DR on all my basses for years now, love them.

If you like the sound, but want a heavier gauge of string, I'd say stick with the D'Addario XL set (that's what is on it), but go the next one up.

It has the EXL170 set, maybe try the EXL160?

FWIW, I use DR Black Beauties on my basses, and love them. However, they are the precise gauges that are already on your bass....

Ok, so I took a chance and decided to try some GHS Boomers on it and I find myself in the same spot I was beforehand! They just aren't doing it for me!
I just bought a set of D"addario EXL 165's for it and will give it another go.
Should I run into the same issues (mine, not the bass or strings lol) I'll give the DR's a try. I do have a set of those on my Yamaha bass, but I'm not really liking them to much... at least on the Yammy.
I'll just keep trying until I find that "perfect" combination.
Thanks again all!

Sam Ash nor GC had Black Beauties in 5 string. They had D'Addario strings, but I am not a real fan. I saw Ernie Ball Super Slinky in 5 string being that I have never tried them I picked up a set of the 40-60-75-95-125. I am really digging these strings, they sound good finger style and slap. Texture wise they seem similiar to the D'Addarios, but imo they sound a lot better. I thought they may be thin sounding but with the Nords and Demeter they sound really good and even. I think I paid $25 for the pack. I will see how long they last, if they hold up I may stay with them.

Ok, so I slapped the D'addarios I mentioned above into my bass on Saturday... man the bass came alive again! I was pretty surprised how much more tone poured out of the bass! It was like someone took a big piece of plywood off the front grill of my speaker cabinet and allowed them to breathe!
Thanks for the suggestion folks... I think I'm gonna stick with these strings for a while.
