Question Swapping necks ?

Hello Roscoeheads

This is one strange question for Gard.

Well as some of you know, I've got two Roscoes

-a freted LG 3005, exhib. quilted maple top, ash body, standard neck, birdeyes fb with Delano pickups and Glockenklang pre.

-a fretless SKB 3005, bubinga top, ash body, standard neck, diamond wood/birdeyes maple fingerboard and with Roscoe bart. pickups and Audere pre.

I would be curious to hear what the SKB would sound like in a freted version.

So apart from the obvious setup problems, is it technicaly possible to put the LG neck on the SKB body to test that combo ?

And on the other hand put the fretless neck on the LG to hear what the Delano/Glock setup would do for the fretless ?

Thanks

Ludo

Ludo -

Nope.

Sorry...won't work, especially from the LG to the SKB or vice versa - the neck heel is completely different between the two basses. Even if they were both one or the other, it still probably wouldn't work, because each neck is hand fitted to the neck pocket of the bass it is on, and there is a little variation from one bass to the next....
