Techies

I'm curious, how many folks here double in a techie, science, etc. day gig?

I'm a mathematician by trade, current working as an enterprise IT architect/engineer and have always noticed a large number of people in these fields are also musicians, particularly IT. The correlation between musical ability and a propensity toward sciences in general is not so remarkable but how that consistently comes to fruition is fascinating.

And to make sure we stay on topic, I'm sure we can prove the exceptionally intelligent are of course a.) bassists and b.) play Roscoe basses....

Mechanics (/electrician) also allowed?

I'm a mechanic by trade (trucks, big ass generators, diesel specialist).

Now own a motorcycle dealership.
With modern motorcycles it involves some "IT", hooking up the terminal to the bike for diagnosis and ignition programming.

I'm a former EE. My first career was in software development for the telecom industry. Do I miss it? Heck no!!! Now I own a small music shop which is much more invigorating!

Hehe, I'm not in this group, at least 60% of my work involves a shovel.

You need a shovel to wade through the Roscoe/Rocket threads to keep your shoes from getting dirty. By my estimation you should be well advanced.

I drive a powerchair.

Whiskey is fine. But I wouldn't recommend interstate travel.

I loled!

But in all seriousness, you work with rockets with wheels attached, I cut names in stone, I know which sounds more fun to me.

Grass is always greener on the other side.

Trust me, it ain't all that fun.
Owning a store, being in business for yourself. Difficult customers. Paperwork, management, finances,...
I drive and enjoy a lot less motorcycles then before I had the garage.

You do work that is meant to last a very long time.
It seems a bit more noble what you do.

Bill, If you're driving on that trip, I'll soon have fellow powerchair drivers to race. .

If you left out of North Carolina with Greg, there's no way you'd make it to North Dakota.

As much as you like whiskey, I'd vote you not making the Blacksburg city limits.

God Bless, Ray
