I'm at work and given that no one around here would appreciate this, I thought i'd throw it out to those who would. Four or so years down the track, things are in motion for my second roscoe. These specs aren't completely finalised yet but I doubt anything will change.
- Fretless Century 6
- Swamp Ash Body
- Koa top with totally ridiculous figure! Pics will come once 100% confirmed. Thanks for picking this one out Gard!
- Oil finish
- Wenge / maple sandwichy shim between body top & back
- Birdseye Maple Diamondwood lined fingerboard
- Roscoe Barts & Preamp
I'm feeling super positive about this one... less anxious about getting it as quickly as my last but that'll be sure to change once it gets towards the end of production. ... .... .... ... ... ... YEEEEAAAAHHH!!

Great spec's for sure! Nothing sounds or plays as nice as a Roscoe fretless with the diamondwood fb. And the Bart/Bart combo is definitely the way to go with the fretless.
That figured Koa top should look killer too! |

We've kinda got a surprise for you...we've already started the neck!
Based on our e-mails, I had a good feeling, and since we were starting a new group of necks yesterday, I went ahead and have Jason put a blank into production for you!
Translation: sooner than later for completion!

Love my fretless sixer with the diamondwood board - just cleaned it up with some 600-grit paper last night during a re-string, as a matter of fact. No wear marks to speak of after many years of suffering under the torture of my motorized-bratwursts-on-meth fingers. Quote:

(I tried...and failed...to work "flat" and "sharp" in there. Probably better for all of us.)
Sorry for the hijack (who, me?) - congrats again on this, and I can't wait to see it and hear your thoughts. |

Thanks Gard!!! Yeah I got the update from George this morning that it was likely going to be a very fast turn around, which is of course freakin' awesome from my perspective!!!

Body-wise this is going to look a lot like Greg's (Rocket Music) Century Signature 5 string if anyone knows it. I got inspiration from a few basses i'd seen on TB and after seeing what tops Gard pulled up this one just nailed it! Greg, if you're around, thanks for all your help on the oil finish questions - especially seeing as i've ordered it through a local Oz dealer, your help was most appreciated! I love the subtlety of the oil finish and i'm sure with this top it will pop like a mofo!!

How do you plan to keep your drool from shorting out the electronics while you're playing it?
Congrats, you've got impeccable taste.

That is just killer! Greg's bass with the oil finish is right up there at the top of my all time favorites! It's enough to make me want to have one more Roscoe built! |

I can't wait to see how that top ends up. I did myself a slap-up photoshop template and slotted the timber into it to see where everything ended up in relation to pickups / neck etc and it got me a tiny bit excited!!
Ah yeah... I got myself a serial which I nearly forgot about. #6154 is all mine!
I also see I have a koa topped century six brother in another thread - #6155. I was very on the fence about whether to go for the maple diamondwood or black so i'm very keen to see how this one turns out. Granted the tops are quite different.
