Hello Roscoeheads and Happy Leftover Turkey day two Like many, I have owned Roscoe's in the past. 2 LG3005's to be exact and while I regretfully sold my first one years ago the second one and I never really "connected"(It was DEFINITELY more me than the bass )...Well, yesterday I pulled the trigger on #3 AKA "Black Friday Beauty" LOL at my semi-local shop and I'm pretty sure she will be around for a very long time... I've been noodling around with this beast for at least a year and I have had enough of that, time to bring her home! Specs and pics on link below... My main and only other bass is an FBass BN5 and this one not only offers a completely different set of tonal palettes it's ergonomic light weight body is a welcoming feature for my shoulder Lastly, another big thanks to the Greensboro crew for making such beautiful amazing instruments! http://www.gelbmusic.com/store/produ...roducts_id=305

Gelb is the real deal for bass players, and the fact that they so highly endorse the Roscoe brand speaks very highly of both companies. Definitely a lot of common ground between Rocket and Gelb. Regarding the pics, the bg probably wouldn't be my first choice, but it does give a very fair representation of each instrument. In that regard, I think erring on the side of, "harsh," is a good thing. IMO you get a great idea of the appearance, and the instruments look better in-person. No arguments like, "Hey - the pictures didn't show that. Plus, another advantage: setting the white balance to that specific bg prevents any color issues.
Anyway, back on-topic. Charlito Cracker....congratulations! I've often looked at and heard that bass, wondering why it hadn't yet found a home. I'm very glad to hear it's in your hands. Go myrtle! |

Thank you all for the kind words.... I've never been to Rocket but will echo all the great things Jerry mentioned about Gelb, truly an awesome joint!

| | | I can't resist a "me too" on this. First time Roscoe purchase for me, also from Gelb. Never been a big Roscoe fan before, but the tone of this thing just crushes. In fact, it seemed like every Roscoe they had in stock was a great player, but each with it's own distinct personality. http://www.gelbmusic.com/store/produ...d51aae52d1d094
I've been lurking in this forum ever since I put it on layaway a couple of weeks ago.
I can't say enough good things about Gelb. I've bought a lot of gear from them over the years and they've always been great to work with.
