Hey Joe,
I was just thinking...I noticed in your post that you mentioned changing the pickups and pre in your new 6 to bartonlini's. Well I just happen to be changing mine to Nordsrand DC's and a aggie pre-amp...the same combo thats in your 6er? Get where I'm going with this? Let's swap and save each other a load of cash?

Congratulations. That is a collection that is second to none in my book.

loving those 6ers as well, nice collection! | Thanks, that LG honestly is the best playing LG that I ever played as for as neck wise go. The LG and the ebony 6 string has the thinnest necks (as far as profile goes) that I've ever felt on a Roscoe. I guess its just the luck of the draw seeing as though all are hand shaped. I would venture to say that they are both like flattened "D's." Don't get me wrong... most Roscoe's have great necks on them epecially the 6er's.
The Roscoe 5's and 6er's (especially the 6er's) are truely one of the best if not the best and easiest to play. I'm just saying that the LG and Ebony 3005 are really special and super Fast! Honestly, I'm not really an LG fan because of the smaller body but one look and feel of that baby plus the pre-vision of my BE Maple pu covers and knobs being installed had me pulling out the dough fast! Did I mention that the sound had me drooling also? |

I'm not sold on the idea that changing out the pre or p/u's is what I want to do yet. The more that I play the bass the more my ears get use to the tone of the Aggie/Nords.
If I did want to try anything I would probably try the Bart p/u's first so I might be interested in purchasing your Bart p/u's. Let me know if you want to sell them and how much.
later! |

Your collection has become quite the enviable bunch. Quote:

They definitely offer more harmonic content than the Barts, and sound less "compressed" to my ears. While it's easier to have the Barts sounding "pretty" with very little knob turning, it's amazing what you can get out of the Nordstrand DCs with some good technique and a bit of EQ to taste. |

That walnut bass is one of my all-time favorites, it just turned out so well in every respect. If it had been a 19mm bridge on it, I might have tried to pick it up for myself!
Congrats on what is likely to be the sickest Roscoe collection out there!!!
(And we'll forgive you the Dingwall, I like 'em too, plus Sheldon & crew are good friends of ours, he's one of my favorite guys out there! )
