If I do, I might install a tweeter... Jim B. says it's possible... | No love for the NV-412? I'd think it'd be more accomodating to one maybe 2 tweets. You could have Jim build it where you essentially have 2-212's in one box, with ceramics rather than neos.
I'm jus' sayin'.
God Bless, Ray

And that may also be part of what's going on with my current displeasure (the Quad is based around a 12" woofer). I can't say for sure it's the neo or the 12" that's killing me, but whatever it is the mids are too prominent and harsh for my tastes... I like it warm and mellow, but it has to be able to snap when I want it to snap. That means a ceramic 10" to me (either 4 or 6 of 'em) plus a tweeter...
So I'm looking at a Berg NV610 if I can make a tweeter happen in that, or maybe the Genz-Benz 410-XB3. I'll be back in a 90-100 lb cab, but I'm OK with that. Tone is more important to me than weight...

Generally thinking it would be a shame to go for a light-weight Neo cab and potentially miss out on hearing that famous Roscoe low-end kicking me in the back... plus I do play a bit of fretless and keep hearing it's worth using a 12 cab for that...

My big gig rig is an EBS HD350 through an EBS Neoline 212. For small gigs I use an EA Micro 550 through and EA Wizzy 10.
The EBS, for me is tonally a perfect match for the Roscoe. Clarity, punch and articulated bottom end. The EA sounds lovely as well, but I do tweak the EQ a fair bit live to get the sound right. Thankfully my Roscoe has a great well rounded 'flat EQ' sound so there's never much work needed.

I've recently acquired a tc electronics RH750 to replace my Markbass Little Mark II (for sale!) and so far I am liking it a lot. The Markbass did everything I needed tonally, but the RH750 has a lot of nifty extras (footswitchable presets, built in tuner, RCA in for practice, etc.) and is a bit louder. I'm still getting used to it but so far it plays nicely with my Roscoe.
I wouldn't mind trying some other Berg cabs, especially the new HD112 and/or HD210. The more extended voicing of those over my old HT cabs would be a nice option to have some of the time, but mostly I've not felt it was needed. |

GB Shuttle 9.0 and Streamliner 900 with Berg Cabs, used as needed. For small gigs the Shuttle and Berg HT112ER and larger gigs either head and Berg HS 410.
Basically the Roscoe basses sound great even through a tin can on a string, just looks better on stage to have a real amp and speaker behind me than the Cambell's soup. |

I've owned several Markbass heads and cabs including the SD800... I couldn't seem to make the sound work for me and have traded or sold them all. To my ears the Streamliner matches up perfectly with the p-style growl of my Roscoe. I can get plenty of mids and cut through a busy mix with the Schroeder 1212 or lay back on heavy punchy goodness through the Über 410. I use the 15 (no tweeter) for small bluesy, jazzy or americana gigs and it covers that pretty well... I haven't played through any of the tube driven Markbass stuff though and I'm guessing they'd be more towards my tastes. That being said... I still throw a big thumbs up for the Genz/Roscoe combination. |

There is something about Roscoe basses and Eden amps that just flat out works. For me, anyway.
