I wanted to leave you with this in anticipation of what I'll have to show y'all in the New Year after one of my two basses sell!
Hope each of you have the BEST time with your families this year!!! 'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a bassist was playing, not even Brick House;
The straps and cords were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that Keith Roscoe soon would be there; The roscoeheads were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of SKB's & LG's danced in their heads;
And Momma in her rocker with baby dog on her lap
Was watching the Late Show while I laid groove to a rap. When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the rehearsal studio to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash. The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow
Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below,
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But TB'ers proclaiming that Keith Roscoe was here. With a little old driver, so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment it must be Keith, no common NC hick.
More rapid than eagles his coursers they came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name; "Now, Whalepooh! now, Youngs! now, JOME and DannyV!
On, Rocket! on VroomVroom! on, CrashClint and CliffD!
To the top of the shop! to the top of the wall!
Now dash away! dash away! dash away all!" As dry leaves that before the ('06 Cup-winning) Hurricanes fly,
When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky,
So up to the house-top the coursers they flew,
With the sleigh full of basses, and Keith Roscoe too. And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof
The string pulling and plucking of each clammy hoof.
As I drew in my head, and was turning around,
Down the chimney Keith Roscoe came with a bound. He was dressed all in sweats, from his head to his toes,
And his clothes were all covered with sawdust up to his nose;
A bundle of basses he had flung on his back,
And he looked like a peddler just opening his gig-pack. His eyes -- how they twinkled! his dimples how merry!
His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!
His droll little mouth was drawn up like a rosined bow,
And the swamp ash on his chin was as white as the snow; The thump of his thumb he slapped with might to his "B",
And the sonic boom it encircled our heads like a wreath;
He had a broad face and a little round belly,
That shook, when he laughed like a Bergantino, no really! He was not chubby or plump (free bass?), a right jolly old elf,
And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself;
A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,
Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread; He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
And dressed all the frets; then turned with a jerk,
And laying his finger aside of his nose,
And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose; He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.
But I heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight, "Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good-night."

But if Keith was making rounds I guess I'm off-the-hook

Maybe I'd be able to play more than dotted quarter eighth half note patterns if I spent as much time IN a practice room than making excuses to stay out of them. Quote:

I think the original work was written by a talented person. I just crammed as many words I could into this viewing it as a Mad Lib. I'm sure there is rolling over in graves for what I did. Quote:

I had thoughts of casting you as "the Grinch" after our encounter at the G2G baseball game, but maybe that verse will have to wait until next year. Quote:

Haha! I swiped as soon as the old lady put it under the tree! And let me tell you, she did NOT like you in 2009! You can have your Christmas SKB back. It's painted pink with purple and white flowers on it!

The one with the two women on it would definitely be ok. |
