That shouldn't have anything to do with the wait time though. I'll let GARD confirm this but based on my experiences, once you're in the queue it's about the same for any spec'd out bass (other than special order p/u's, electronics or hardware; and those are typically ordered in a manner to accomodate the build schedule; thanks to Gard!).
.....it'll be worth the wait though! |

Has Roscoe ever build a neck that has both wenge and purple heart combination?
How much influence does the neck has in the sound when you have different types of woods in the neck? can you realy notice the sound change?

However, I get the impression that your question is actually have we used purpleheart as the center, then the answer is no. Quote: |

| Yes, I definitely hear a difference between the 3-piece all-maple Century Standard neck, the regular LG/SKB/Century neck, and the wenge wedge neck. It is subtle, but I hear it - the CS neck is very snappy and has solid lows, the "regular" neck is a bit more even, and the wenge wedge is more mid-focused to my ear.

If you were stranded on a deserted island, and you could only have ONE ROSCOE, what would it be? What woods and electronics? (yes, this is assuming the deserted island has electricity to power your amp)

If it was a deserted island then the electronics wouldn't matter!
Maybe Keith needs to start building acoustic basses!

I absolutely love my Roscoe with the wenge wedge neck. Unfortunately, in comparison to my fertile myrtle bass, I can only guess how much the neck factors into the overall sound. Aside from the neck (and maple top...although both have ash bodies) it's got completely different electronics as well. Overall, though, the bass has every characteristic of Roscoe instruments that I love, they're just all emphasized a bit. The fat lows are even fatter, the mids speak a bit more aggressively, and the highs are less compressed and a little more crisp. No surprise, but this bass has a wicked slap tone as well. Bottom line...I don't think I'd hesitate to recommend the wedge neck. |

They will be asking you to please turn down so they can be heard. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
