It's definitely not the norm for a Roscoe but if your Gasing for a Roscoe and dig EMG's it would be a bargin at $995.
It's basically an ash one piece body LG 2005 (3005 w/o top carving) with straight p/u's, maple Finger board, old style Wilkenson bridge, EMG p/u's and probably an EMG 2-band pre.

It looks like a Roscoe, would play like a Roscoe and even with the EMG's, should still have a version of that classic Roscoe tone. Of course at that price you could always change out the p/u's and pre and still not be upside down in it.

That's an early 90's bass, 3 piece maple neck, EMG with the EMG 2-band EQ.

It won't sound or play exactly like a "modern" Roscoe, but will still be a great sounding and playing bass. The ash body is probably northern ash, so it will be a bit heavier and edgier sounding that what we do now when working with a solid swamp ash body with Barts and a Bart preamp.

For under a G, probably a nice pickup.

Oh, and if you want to switch pickups & electronics, keep in mind that the present P4 sized Barts we now use will not fit in the rout for the EMG pickup. You'll have to check with a Bart dealer to get the correct sized pickup. You can get the Bart 2-band preamp with the treble & bass stacked like the EMG that is installed in that bass, however, so you could change over to a Bart/Bart system without drilling holes or the like, if you should decide to do that.

Good luck!

My first taste of a Roscoe

I played this instrument a couple of weeks ago and I enjoyed it very much. Since I play Spectors there was a bit of familiarity with it sporting the EMG pickups and the 2 band preamp. At that price, I would think that is a very good bargain, especially considering they were asking $1400.00 in store.
