But my specs would be:
Century 3006 Fretless
The above top
Spanish Cedar Body
Some sort of contrasting shim between top and body
Unlined Birdseye Diamondwood board
19mm spacing at bridge
Roscoe Barts
Bart Pre
BLACK hardware
Gloss Finish
That would make me happy. But if not the above top, it's gonna be buckeye burl.

And a button on it marked "awesome bass licks" | I KNEW that I put my recipe down! It's been a while though.
I think I'm still good with this combo, but I might be pursuaded to stick with Bart pickups and preamp.

What a tangled web, given that I have the Audere pre in both of my personal Roscoes. I really dig the Auduere, but I would caution you that it does NOT contribute much to that ROSCOE sound. It does give you a good/great sound. I LOVE both my Audere equipped Roscoes, but I find myself wanting a third Roscoe (one that has that signature Roscoe tone).
The Audere is pretty transparent, not a lot of attitude. Which is great if you're not after a Roscoe with that Roscoe tone in spades... but if you are after a bass that screams Roscoe, then I would definitely suggest either the Bart or Aguilar pre. And some might also suggest the Demeter, but that's no longer a factory option. |

But I'm 100% with you Greg. There is something really magical about a Roscoe with the Bart/Bart combo! It just screams ROSCOE! |

For a fretless -- +1. Thanks for the input!

Coupled with the Nordstrand DC's, it was just wayyyyy too polite sounding for me.
I also owned one with a Demeter pre, which I liked a bit better than the Audere, but for me, the Bart preamp is where it's at. It's all a matter of personal preference!
