We have another one in production for our Japanese distributor right now, here's a shot of it:

Would a Flying V body be possible?
But a Flying V not as vulgar proportioned as the classic Gibson design.
More something like a Jackson.
Or would that be like asking Rolls Royce to built me an ATV?
I understand a respectable company has a certain integrety to uphold.
I'm actually serious... would there be a market for boutique Flying V guitars and basses? With a more elegant body design.
eh...
That's the thing about a broken finger:
less playing time ==> more GAS ==> lots of weird ideas |

Is that Cobalt Blue, or do you have another blue on the pallette (whale blue? trans blue?)? That blue seems a bit more "alive" than the usual Cobalt Blue, but maybe that's just the Quilted Maple and the flash talking... |

Stefan - the reality is that we already have the TB shape from many years back, and it's relatively easy for us to reproduce it, as there is no design time/labor involved. A new (for us to execute) design, such as a V, would involve quite a bit of R & D to get it right, and we don't have enough interest in the idea to justify the investment in one instrument - the cost of doing that R & D has to get absorbed somewhere, and you wouldn't want to do that on ONE bass! I know that we're thought of as a "custom" builder, but the reality is that we're more of a production shop with a LOT of available options. Kind of like being able to order a pizza with whatever crust, sauce, cheese, and toppings you want, but the only shapes available are round or square....

Yup, I figured that.
I understand completely how R&D, production and suply&demand works.
I was just thinking (way) out loud.
Maybe if I ever go into building basses myself.
There may be a niche market for boutique flying V's... and explorers. |

But a pale maple board would make that pop like an explosion!

And I'm in love with your craftmanship. I tested yesterday a second hand LG-3005 , S/N in the 45xx range, it was the best B string I ever tried (and tried some)... I'm thinking about it and now I see this TB5 beauty....

I myself lived in Seville when I was very young (we won't discuss how long ago that was, OK? ). I always thought it was a wonderful place, and I wish we had an active dealer there, so I would have an excuse to visit again!

...word of warning: they're SUPER cool looking, play and sound like a Roscoe in EVERY way, except one - ergonomically, they're a bit headstock heavy. OK, maybe more than just "a bit"...
...however, for sheer "rock & roll" coolness factor, well...yeah, it's not that bad!
