Wow, that was close...

In a brief lapse of sanity, I decided to sell my Roscoe to drum up some cash. Well, thankfully I took it to rehearsal last night for one last hurrah, because after playing her again I've decided she is staying. I'm partial to the passive J sound right now (hence my rationalization for selling), but the feel and playability of this bass is just ridiculous. Not to mention the looks and then the modern tone when that's what I'm going for. I don't know what I was thinking...

As a side note, I'd love a SKB 3005 with passive jazz pickups. I've seen the recent mock up pics and say PLEASE DO IT!

Anyway, here's my baby and she's staying:

Thumbs up

Good decision! That is a very sweet looking Roscoe too!

I've yet to play any bass that played as well as the Roscoe's.

Thanks Gard. Unfortunately, I'm short on cash now (hence the initial sale) and would be better suited buying used if buying at all. That said, I will own one eventually.

I have several basses that would go before my Roscoe. I could never sell a bass that my wife loved too. As much as I hate to say it, you did the right thing

My Roscoe is going nowhere I'll end up rigless, sleepin' in my chair with a tarp on top. Gig bag strapped to the back

Good call on keepin' her. It'd be a shame to sell that one.

God Bless, Ray

Good for you, man! From one myrtle/spalted purpleheart brother to another....congratulations! Money will come and go, but the pangs of regret last a lifetime.

I would let you pawn it to me before you ever had to sell it. Then when you were ready you could pay it off, though it would be hard to give back.

I saw the FS thread and gave a few mins serious thought to buying it. The wife and I might have gone hungry for a couple of months but it would have been worth it IMO. That is a seriously sweet bass. My wife thanks you for keeping it though.

Kind offer but I hope to never take ya up on it. See the way I envision it, I return to "reclaim" my property and Clint's Cheap Charge Credit Conglomerate would all the sudden become "mobile" and hard to locate
