Yellowjackets with Mike Stern in Austin Oct 03 08

Roscoe Heads,
I am a little bit behind the power curve here so just bear with me... I found out this past summer that the Yellowjackets would be coming to Austin so I started bothering Gard immediately about getting to meet Jimmy Haslip. So, of course Gard being Gard he 1) he called Jimmy Haslip for tickets 2) I got to meet Jimmy. Thank you Gard, Keith and Roscoe Guitars.

I have been a fan of the Yellowjackets for a while now. Jimmy Haslip is the reason why I originally wanted to get a Roscoe. I of course had to save up the money to get one... but I eventually got one.

The Yellowjackets with Mike Stern where amazing. It was an unbelievable thrill to see them play live. Meeting Jimmy was beyond my wildest imaginations. Whenever he spends time with one of his fans he treats them like they are the most important person right then and there. Amazing. I eve got Jimmy to sign the back control cavity to my bass. My already special Roscoe is that much more special.

And what can I say about Keith and Gard at Roscoe guitars that hasn't already been said? Man I love those guys. I also have to say a special thanks to Sanders for the job he did on my inlay, see my avatar. He got the 1st Infantry Division Patch perfect. I couldn’t be a happier Roscoe Head.

Thumbs up

Awesome!
I bet that was a great concert!
Kudos for Gard getting involved and helping out on the tickets!

I know most of the AFRES band here in Warner Robins and have performed all of their guitar/bass repairs for years. They actually have several Roscoe basses (thanks to me! I turned them on to them 10-11 years ago).

I've played with quite a few too. Great players!

If you want a clean rear access cover without all of the writing on it let me know. I'd be willing to sacrifice a clean one that I've got laying around for it!
.....even trade!

Now, how awesome is that? Right on! Thanks for sharing this with us - especially the pics! To my ears Mike Stern and that 'Jackets are a perfect fit - I can only imagine how awesome they must've sounded.
