And for me, it is unlike any other - MY team, my boys, my Saints are the defending NFL Champs, they are the best of the NFL until someone else lifts that silver football...and they will lift it yet again this season.
TWO DAT!!!
...however, I do know that while I am not alone in my love for this game, I am pretty much outnumbered in my opinion of which team is the best. So, fellow NFL fanatic Roscoeheads, let's dish - pick the order of each division, and whoever gets the most right, free t-shirt & hat at the end of the regular season!!!
Use "x" to mark division winners, "y" for wild card.
I'll go first (and I'm disqualified for the prize, so if I win, whoever's second gets the prize):
AFC East:
1) New England Patriots -x
2) Miami Dolphins - x
3) New York Jets
4) Buffalo Bills
AFC North:
1) Cincinnati Bengals - x
2) Baltimore Ravens - y
3) Pittsburgh Steelers
4) Cleveland Browns
AFC South:
1) Indianapolis Colts - x
2) Tennessee Titans
3) Houston Texans
4) Jacksonville Jaguars
AFC West:
1) San Diego Chargers
2) Denver Broncos
3) Oakland Raiders
4) Kansas City Chiefs
NFC East:
1) Dallas Cowboys - x
2) New York Giants - y
3) Washington Redskins
4) Philadelphia Eagles
NFC North:
1) Green Bay Packers - x
2) Minnesota Vikings
3) Chicago Bears
4) Detroit Lions
NFC South:
1) Duh...YOUR NFL CHAMPION NEW ORLEANS SAINTS!!! - x
2) Atlanta Falcons - y
3) Carolina Panthers
4) Tampa Bay Buccaneers
NFC West:
1) San Francisco 49ers
2) Arizona Cardinals
3) Seattle Seahawks
4) St. Louis Rams
We'll do it again once the playoff schedule is set!

BUT Alas ya don't and the Steelers have a couple VERY bad alternatives .

No argument that the Steelers aren't where they could/should be offensively. However, they're healthy on defense. Those silly losses last year will not be repeated. More on point, though...this isn't about how you'll be surprised by the Steelers. It's about how wrong you are about the Bungles and Ravens. Especially the Bungles. The Steelers will be a bit better than they were last year, while both foes will be a bit worse. |

Yea he found 'em in Gisele's purse and she has decreed that Football isn't important to her and he can only use them when she deems neccesary. She'd rather he look Purdy like Lil Bieber, to sassify her cougaresque fantasies

Even IF Big Ben Rapistberger manages to hoodwink Goodell into shortchanging his exile, you're starting 4 in the hole, because while defense is important, SCORING POINTS is too. And your offense, to use a favorite pun of mine - is OFFFENSIVE without the Big Guy (and his LITTLE FRIEND ).
Further, come week 6, you face the NFL CHAMPION NEW ORLEANS SAINTS in the 'Dome, on Halloween night...the bad juju will be all over you then.
The Steelers will be better than the Browns, but that's about it.
And Ray....you're out of your cotton pickin' mind if you think that Bony hRomo and company will get out of the first round of the playoffs. The ONLY reason the Cowboys win the NFC-E and make the post season is that the rest of the NFC-E SUCKS.
OK GUYS, MAN UP, MAKE YOUR PICKS, ONLY RAY HAS THE STONES SO FAR!!!
...you don't step up, you don't get to talk trash later!

And they still darn near made the playoffs. Offense counts, no doubt, but they're in a division (and for the most part, a conference) where you don't need to run up the score to win games. That's been the Steelers MO for as long as we've both been alive. Keep it close, let the defense win it. Bada boom. Last year was a big slap in the face. This year, Tomlin's boys go back to basics. Ben...he's a knucklehead, and I certainly won't defend him. But they can win games with Dixon and Leftwich. Don't believe me? The dog-ass Ravens won a super bowl....with Trent Dilfer @ QB. Quote:

This is fun. As always, I'm likely full of crap. Lots of parity around the league these days but it'll be a treat to look back and see who got close. |

I believe all the "injury" mess outta Dallas is a Snake Charm. Seems like some obnoxious Saints fan pointed out that Payton "rested" the Saints after they secured HFA last year. I believe both Lee and Bryant are fine but Jerry's taking a play outta "Cocky McNuttball's" book and "hiding" them for the most part to get a week or two of the season by on opposing Defenses.
I made my picks, BUT I'd have still been the Loudest Squawking, Trash talking, Loud and Proud idjut I've always been
You'll get no concession, so load for bear and get prepared. CAUSE IT'S ON!

And the NY hype, in the opposite direction. The Cowboys are never as good as they're supposed to be, while the Giants always seem to overachieve.
Honestly, though...NFC East: who the heck knows? I mentioned this above, but this one IMO really is a crapshoot. The 'skins might be a really good pick, actually. Shanahan and McNabb are both pissed for old teams giving up on them, and they've got a lot to prove. Read the hype, and the Giants should suck, or at best be mediocre. And Philthy? Roll the dice. No clue on this end, so I merely went with recent history. |

Shanahan will institute discipline in an otherwise chaotic organization BUT it'll take longer than a year to right the ship. And if you're Peeved at someone for dumpin' on you, dont go all ing about it. You kick 'em in the Beans
God Bless, Ray
