Hey everyone,
I've got too much on my plate right now... too many scheduling conflicts, stress from band leaders. One of my bands, Voyager, gigs once or twice a month, and will be getting more gigs from Starleigh booking agency. The band are hoping for a bigger commitment from me, but I prefer not to limit gig opportunities for my brother's band.
They're a good bunch of guys and talented, experienced players: age range is early to late 40's. In addition to bass, there's lead vocal, guitar, keys, drums. The lead singer has a truly spectacular voice - he can cover Journey, Styx, Foreigner, Led Zeppelin, Rush, Bon Jovi, AC/DC, Buck Cherry.
Here's the Voyager myspace: the demo was recorded, mixed, and spliced in just one evening, and doesn't do the band justice: www.myspace.com/voyagerrocks Experience in regularly gigging bands is a must. Vocal ability is a plus, but I don't sing... They're mainly looking for someone who can lay down a tight groove on "arena rock" -- the trickiest songs they do are "Spirit of Radio" and "Tom Sawyer" by Rush. They also play tunes like "Blue Collar Man" and "Too Much Time on my Hands" by Styx, "Magic Power" by Triumph, most of the Journey hits, and a couple of modern songs.
They'll prefer someone who can commit to them fully, but I would be happy to stick around as a sub for them... or perhaps their primary player if you want to sub for me.
You can contact them directly (should be on the myspace), or if you prefer, please feel free to email/PM me and I'll get you their complete song list and answer any questions you have. They rehearse in Ellicott City, usually on Thursdays.

I play in a band that regularly gigs on the eastern shore of Maryland, and sounds like a good opportunity, but being as I'm 16 and live too far, I don't think it would work out. |

Bump. Right now the gigs are split between me and another guy, but they would prefer a bassist with no other commitments. |

This band plays bar gigs and the occasional private party. All gigs so far have been in Maryland, mostly between DC and Baltimore: Columbia, Ellicott City, Glen Burnie, that kinda thing. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
