Bassist for Established rock/pop band in Chicago

Greetings,
My band is serious about gigging more, touring (regional and evetually beyond), and recording a second album. I have a satisfying home life and a job and am not going to do the full-time music thing. (They want to eventually be able to do the band full time) So I am helping them find my replacement.

The last 3 years, I've been with "Something Ordinary" have been some of the most enjoyable music making I have ever experienced. They are a great group of guys who are very mature and easy to get along with and very committed to excellence in music. The band has a strong gigging history including: Double Door, Hard Rock Cafe, The Elbo Room, Cubby Bear, and many others.

You should be willing to practice weekly, and occasionally bi-weekly. The band has a free practice space on the Northwest side of Chicago.

Feel Free to PM me for more information or you can respond directly to Gary (lead vocalist) on the Myspace site.

Here is their myspace address with tunes and what they put in thier Craigslist ad:

BASSIST WANTED
An ambitious rock/pop band from Chicago looking for a dedicated bassist to gig and record. Our influences span from Red Hot Chili Peppers to Coldplay. We are searching for someone with the ability to develop parts for existing songs and the creativity to help write new material. Vocal ability is a plus, but not mandatory. Any prospectives should have their own means of transportation for their equipment, etc. We are looking for someone in the 20 - 26 year age range who enjoys a wide variety of music, and will be as driven as we are to promote shows, and get our music out there. We are committed to work our way futher into the local Chicago music scene, and the region, and we are searching for a bassist with the talent, time, and drive to help us do that.

Best of Luck,
Karl

Looks like a great gig....if only I were 15 years younger.

Good luck. I'll keep an eye out and try to catch one of your future shows.

I sent you guys a message on myspace.com i'm interested. The only catch for me is-i'm going to be in and out of the city over the summer. Like-i'll be back in Indiana during the week and can commute up here on the weekends/etc.

take it easy.
