We are “Hula Groove”, a 10-piece function band comprising of 5 female singers and 5 male musicians.
We are looking for a new bass player to replace an existing member who will be leaving at the end of February 2009.
We perform at approximately 30-40 functions per year mostly in London and the Home Counties but also across the UK and abroad.
We need an experienced and soulful bass player with their own gear and transport. You will need to be free for unpaid rehearsals in the NW London area. You must be available for regular gigs throughout the year on weekends and weekdays.
The band is run as a partnership with all members taking an equal share of profits made each quarter. New members will be paid a set fee per gig during a probation period and then offered a partnership if suitable.
The majority of our gigs are private functions e.g. corporate parties, weddings and charity events. We also promote our own Soul/RnB nights in London venues for the general public.
Our website is consistently in the top 5 results on Google for all relevant searches e.g. “soul band”, “wedding bands”, “bands to hire” etc.

It doesn’t have to be Soul/RnB material but clips of you playing in a punk/metal band probably won’t help us to see that you have the right feel for this work.
