Altria, based in Champaign, Illinois, is looking for a committed bassist (age range 21-35 preferred) who enjoys being a part of the creative process and showing up on time. Our sound is along the lines of Chevelle, Breaking Benjamin, Hoobastank (only... better), Killswitch Engage, Flyleaf, dredg, so on and so forth. We've got touches of metal here and there.

Here's our bandcamp page: http://altria.bandcamp.com
(it's like myspace player, only no ads or flashy things!)

The tracks on there were recorded in a storage garage. Our recording guy is finishing up two tracks we recorded with him, which should be available to listen to in about a week. Our former bassist provided screaming. We're looking for a more "tasteful" version of what is on the recordings if it is to continue. Something that sounds less like a cougar and more like an angry dude. As the singer, I avoid screaming since my throat is a delicate flower, and I sound like I'm being stabbed when I try to do it.

If you can provide vocal backups, whether it's harmonizing or screaming, that is totally a plus. Please have pro gigging gear. We're interested in gigging around the area and Chicago, getting albums put out, and getting the hell out of the midwest.

We're also looking for a drummer, as ours decided to sell everything and move to the west coast. -_- We have half an album's worth of songs ready to go. We are working on more and would love to include you.
