compiling a list of subs for DC/NoVA/MD

Sign in to disble this ad
I am looking to get a working sub list that I can use when I can't make a gig. Wedding band, so must be comfortable and competent in all styles except county and metal. All covers. Motown, 60's, 70's rock/funk/disco, swing, some more modern songs, all dance oriented. alanpachter@gmail.com if interested. Pay is around $200/gig. Thanks!

Same here, but again, if in a jam, alembicplyr@aol.com.
Only one hangup, extremely rusty with sheet music (Have not used in 15 years).
either CD or Nashville charting will do.

subs needed for future jazz gigs

OK, now I am going to need a list of subs for my jazz band. We do mostly Real Book Standards, so you will need to be able to read music and follow charts that you don't have memorized. Also, my group actually prefers the electric bass for this group. I use a Fender Jazz '62 RI/AV with a MB LMII and Epifani PS112 cab, so the closest you can come to that type of sound the better.

I have a deal with my wife that I can do 2 gigs a month, and this group has 2 standing gigs a month with a strong possibility for a 3rd and maybe some more as we seem to be getting busier over time.

Pay is $70-75 a man plus a meal and a drink or 2, and we have a tip jar that yields an extra $5 to $25 per gig per man on.

So let me know if you are interested. Please provide references and audio and video links. Thanks! I already have a few TB guys on my list, just looking to get a few more so that I have enough. The goal is to never have to turn down a gig just because I can't make it.

I'm 15 and living in Bethesda, and I'm working on reading music and I can follow charts if what you mean is written out chords. I also have some Real Books, if that helps.
