Experienced Bassist Needed - CHICAGO - S/W Suburbs - Minooka

We're looking for a serious, motivated bassist with good meter who wants to make some $$$ in a fun acoustic trio. We're getting close to being ready for gigs and recently decided it would be nice to have that sweet, smooth bottom end to compliment our sound. Please PM me if you're in our area and would be interested.

Here's the narrative of our Craigslist ad...

We are an acoustic duo (two acoustic guitars) seeking a solid bassist for gigs at bars, coffee houses, parties and weddings. With the economy being in a ditch lately, we're an affordable alternative to people who still want live music but can't afford to pay a full 5 or 6 man band. We're both in our mid to late 40's and each have over 30+ years of experience playing, gigging, writing and recording. Both of us sing lead and harmony vocals and sometimes employ the use of harmonizers in some of our songs and it sounds great. Currently, we have about 30 solid songs worked out and ready to go, and another 20+ or so that are very close. We play a variety of music, including Classic Rock, some newer stuff, and a small selection of popular Country songs. We feel that adding a bassist would fill out our sound nicely and tie it all together really well. We're looking for a bassist who is smooth, confident, easy to work with, and most importantly... has great meter. We prefer an older, more experienced player. But if you're younger and got the talent then we'd be more than happy to give it a go. Vocal ability would be a HUGE plus and people skills are important, as we feel that interaction with our audience is important. Musically, we want to be tight... but as entertainers, we want to be loose, fun and engaging with our audience. This is a serious project and we want to get out there and make $$$, so please be serious and ready to commit to this. Practice is a minimum one day per week (sometimes twice) and we hope to gig twice a week in the near future. We have a nice PA and excellent equipment.
