Jazz/Funk Bass Player Wanted for Soulful House Music Artist

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey guys,
I am new to the forum, looks like a great place for learning and information (I'm about to buy my first Bass Guitar)

Anyway, as the title of the post says, i am looking for a very good Jazz/Funk Bass player to feature on a few of my releases.

I produce mainly Jazz/Soulful/Vocal House and releases go out on various known labels and download stores. You will be mentioned as the Bass player on promo mail outs and reviews and also be given a percentage of sales.

I must mention that, there is not much money being made in this side of the industry, but if it is something that interests you feel free to send me a message.

Cheers,
Paul.

Thumbs up Interested Bassist

Hey, releaseyourself!

I just ran into your ad. I'm interested. I've been playing for almost 20 years, focusing primarily on funk, jazz, fusion, afro-cuban. Let me know if you're interested as well.

Okay, not exactly next door! I'd love to help you but I don't have the technical capacity (well, maybe I do - Protools) but not really the know-how! It's good that you're looking at learning some bass. I've had some not-so-great experiences with house/electronic producers who just get me to play along to a track with the record button pressed. I dish out a bunch of ideas - some good, some mediocre, some tight, some not-so-tight - and they say, "okay that's fine - I'll just cut-and-paste what I need". A month later I hear the finished product and they've chosen some of the weakest parts from the session! All of a sudden I don't want my name in the credits anymore!

Ah thats cool, thanks for enquiring though. Yes, i am looking forward to learning on my 70's VM Jazz Bass

What i normally do is i send over a short sample with the edited bass to the bass player, to make sure everything sounds good and they are happy with the final version before release.

Cheers,
Paul.

interested

Hey man, I've got some interest in this sort of thing. I have about 15 years touring experience and have 14 albums under my belt dealing with many styles of music. I've got a protools studio at my house and have done a ton of session work. I'm home a lot these days from some injuries so I have a lot of time on my hands at home with my studio. PM me or email me if you'd like to talk further. Thanks, Chris
