Hopefully this goes bettee than craigslist ;-)
I'm the main songwriter/instrumentalist/producer in two 'bands', Mettaya and Radiosmack. While I've been doing decent myself on the recording end, I want a BAND and not just a solo project. Goals are to record my current demos properly, work up new material with new members' input, do live shows, tour, CONQUER ZE VORLD!!!! & etc. What I'm looking for in a bassist
- personality. If we don't see eye to eye and have certain goals in common, things like ability are irrelevant. I want a lifer, someone who wants to work with a good songwriter and help get the band off of the ground, bribery unnecessary. I can't pay you just to show up and act interested, but I want to make sure everyone involved gets credit and a fair share of whatever proceeds. I can't bribe you bur you'll know I value your contribution and reward your stake in the matter the best way I can.
Above all, I think if you have similar inclinations, it'll be FUN. Listen to the work linked below - I write bass and drum solos into my material. PLENTY of room for your self expression and the drummer's. I want friends, fellow travelers, members in my "musical gang", not slaves and lackeys. Bass style
- mix of quasi Geezer style lined with latter day funk metal. I slap a lot. But more for impact than Flea style funk. More Ryknow Martinie than Bootsy. Music Man or pbass pickup into SVT style pre and big ass fuzz from time to time. I have 3 basses to work with and am working on procuring a decent amp if you don't have one. I could care less if you don't have a pot to piss in - if you're the right person for the job. Basses available for those who don't want to set up their 'precious' for D standard and Drop C as well. Like a big sound? Good because you've gotta deal with my six string gargantua. Wimps need not apply. What I bring to the table:
I have a certain notoriety as a former member of The Seeds. Music industry contacts - not saying I'm in development, but still. My songs "Sunny LA" and "The Harness" rose to Top 100 status on the Soundclick.com Rock charts - out of a quarter million competitors, despite demo quality performances and zero promotion on my part. EVERY song I put on that site rose to the top 1% on the sub charts - again, despite being a one man act with no real drummer and no promotion vs bands promoting their tracks to an established fanbase.
I bring The Eagle Eye as well. I am gifted with vision and ability. Not to mention, obviously a big enough ego to qualify as a frontman
Recording, songwriting, graphic design, video production, gear to do all this **** with, a wagon to transport us in, even a mascot. Not to mention a book-worthy backstory and street cred all those hipsters would DIE to acquire...no "authenticity" problems here. Influences:
Black Sabbath, Nirvana, Alice In Chains, Tool, Acid Bath/anything Dax Riggs touches, Ministry, Strapping Young Lad, early Radiohead, The Porcupine Tree, Meshuggah, Tom Waits, Portishead, Massive Attack, The Deftones, A Perfect Circle, Hank III, could go on..;-) My sound:
Adam Jones meets Sabbath. Gibson/modern Marshall, have tons of effects but many songs are straight-into-amp too. I can sing devently with no damned autotune and scream like a baritone demon. Depends on the song and 'band' - Mettaya is metal/stoner/industrial and Radiosmack is grunge and non-metal heavy rock. Ideally I'd want one band to cover both. Links to material

Two self produced music videoes on You Tube undet the channel "Rocket Pig Records DRUGS
- bring some! As long as it's Cannabis, Psylocybin, Acid, other pyschedelics, or decent beer or whiskey. NO TWEEKERS. NO JUNKIES. NO DUBSTEP. Bring coke and I ain't payin, personal policy ;-). Don't be a cartoon drunk, or at least be a funny/not pathetic one who doesn't use "but I was drunk" as a catch all excuse for ****ing up. Pretty simple.
