I am moving out of state and am trying to help my band replace me. It pains me to be doing this as it is the best band I've ever been in, but real life doesn't care about that.
Music can be found here:
Billows
We play that as a set, and also have a more recently written second set about the same length that has shorter songs with a faster pace.
Practice is in Rockville, MD
Gigs are mainly in the DC/Baltimore area but lots of connections with other bands. We've played with Questioner, The Osedax, Borracho, Admiral Browning, Backwoods Payback, Lo-Pan, Hull, Batillus, Ancient Astonaught, Nagato, etc etc. We've also opened for some larger acts such as Sourvein and The Ocean.
Everyone in the band is over 21, has a source of income, their own transportation, etc. This band has zero drama, are great musicians (the drummer is one of the easiest to play with drummers I've ever had the pleasure of jamming with), zero drug problems, all members are very open minded, etc etc. Every one has their own personal life and understand that sometimes things need to be rescheduled because stuff comes up.
Basically if you want to play in a bluesy/stoner/sludge/doom type of band and want to have some fun, this is a perfect opportunity. The songs are easy to learn and all members value the important of bass in a live mix. Your main roll is to hold down the groove but you are given pretty much free will as to how you want to play a song.
Since moving to the MD area these guys have been my best friends. I feel terrible and incredibly guilty that I am leaving them when things were going well so I am doing my best to find them a suitable replacement. If you have any interest or questions, please PM me and I will put you in contact with them so you can look into setting up an audition.
