METAL BASSIST WANTED for established Nashville-based metal band OBLIVION MYTH.

First, see us on youtube.com/oblivionmyth and see video of our drummer in the studio and video of us performing live.
We have not been able to get a bassist because the majority of them say our music is too difficult, although many love our music and would have loved to play music with us, particularly with our drummer.
please read further, thanks, Keith Smith.

What we have to offer: a place in a great family of metal musicians, opportunities to write and record, and the chance to perform all around Tennessee and beyond. Our first album, "Between Light and Shadow," contains eight songs and was released in July 2008. After 4 years of playing shows, we are currently recording our second album "Into The Valley of Unrest." We will have eleven songs on our second album and have several songs already being prepared for our third album.

What we are looking for: we need someone who will be a part of our family and be an actual "bassist". By our definition, this is a bass player that sounds like a bass player and knows how to play with a drummer, not some dude playing rhythm guitar on bass (unless your name is Lemmy, then we'll talk!). As for the progressive side of your playing, if you were asked to do a bass solo, would the audience go get a beer, take a piss, or would they be enamored by your ability? If you can drop people's jaws, we want to meet you! Of course, you will need to be reliable, committed, practice on your own, own your own professional equipment, and join the band for a 5+ hour rehearsal EVERY SATURDAY.

What we are NOT interested in: unstable people - if you are a drunk, bigot, drug user, womanizer, or some other form of douche-bag, don't bother! We know how to have a good time, but we are NOT 420 tolerable at all. Sub-par guitar players who have switched to bass also need not apply. Vocals and ability to play keys are a plus but not required.

I am interested in auditioning and hearing your tunes.

I am from Texas, but i am willing to relocate for the

right project.

Send me a tape or c.d. of what you have so i can

learn the tunes. Then , when I am ready, I'll show you

what I can do. I am older, but I have been playing

Metal most of my life, and I am a Bassist, not a frustrated rhythem guitarist.

My influences are, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Metallica

and I mean their bassists,,, so you know I am old school

but I look good for my age.

My snail mail address is

Dube

Corpus Christi, Texas 78412

my e mail is: mobetterbass@yahoo.com

I wont waste your time if you don't waste mine...
