All right guys, since this is TB, I'll give you the straight skinny.
My band isn't working for me anymore.

Up front, I don't have any issues with the individuals in the band, they're all great guys and good musicians. I just realized that I have had enough of the "modern rock" thing that seems to be their cup of tea.
I was good with them until it was decided that we needed to do covers (more places to play, money to be made) and it sort of went south from there. I posted the following ad on Craigslist, and have had a few nibbles, but I guess I'll put it here too.
-----------------------------------------------------
Twice Removed is looking for a bassist who's into modern rock - think finger eleven, 3 doors down, that sort of thing. We have over an hour of original stuff, and shooting for about two hours worth of cover material. We've got some gigging experience (as an originals band) and some contacts locally, so we want to get things moving.
You gotta have your own gig-ready gear and transportation, able to meet up in Va Beach for practice, and be able to learn new stuff fairly quickly. People who can also sing backup will get special consideration.
Must be 21+ and willing to get out as much as possible. Our current bassist is leaving soon, so there's some time for you to get up to speed. Also drug-free, at least when practicing/playing. Our current bassist uses five-string basses, but if you can rock hard with 4 (or whatever) that's fine with us.
Feel free to PM me if you're interested.
--------------------------------------------
Again, I just want to emphasize that there's nothing
wrong with the band, as such. It's just not what I see myself doing anymore. I haven't told them my intentions to quit - I want to find my own replacement and get them up to speed, so I don't leave the band hanging. I plan on breaking the news soon, though.
Check the link for our myspace page, and some of the originals, and here's a list of current covers we've more or less got down.
Bon Jovi - Wanted Dead or Alive
Tim McGraw - Live Like You Were Dyin' (we turned it "rock")
