Progressive Rock - NYC/North Jersey

Sign in to disble this ad
Shadow Circus is an established progressive rock band. Our first CD was released on ProgRock Records, and received outstanding reviews. We are now preparing to record our second CD for release this Fall. Our sound is influenced by Yes, ELP, early Genesis, Deep Purple, Jethro Tull, Pink Floyd, etc. Dynamics range from whisper-quiet to hard-rocking, some songs are very long and complex, others are short. The music is challenging but very melodic and accessible.

We are looking for a skilled bassist who is available to rehearse in August to record in early September. This will mean a minimum of one rehearsal each week, but possibly a few more just before recording. Once the tracks are recorded, we will take a break until the CD is mixed and released, then begin rehearsing for live shows. Our goal is to play one of the big Prog Festivals in 2009, and possibly get to play in Europe.

Age, looks, race, gender, orientation doesn't matter, what we need is someone with a passion for the music, ability to commit, a good sense of humor, and good musicianship.

Samples of our music are available on our website at:

http://www.shadowcircusmusic.com

and Myspace:

The position is still open! We aren't announcing our old bass player's departure on our website until the replacement has joined the band...If anyone's interested, just p.m. me here or use the contact form on the site...

The first auditions are next Wednesday, so yes, it is still open.

We can either rehearse in West Paterson, NJ, which is about an hour or so from Sussex, or in Manhattan...We're flexible depending on where our new bassist is located.
